Hello Dolls,

In my last post I told you all about my adventures in Mykonos! After Mykonos, we went to Santorini. I have to say that was a perfect sequence of the vacation: go crazy in Mykonos then go to Santorini to relax and detox. Santorini is very different from Mykonos. The weather in Mykonos was pretty windy and it was never super hot. Santorini was very hot! We stayed in Oia, which is the village that is in most pictures of Santorini. It is located at the very tip of Santorini and has most breathtaking views of the sunset. It’s absolutely stunning, and if you’ve ever seen any pictures from santorini chances are they were taken on a cliffside in Oia. The entire village is built into the cliff and most of the hotels are small and have incredible views. We stayed at a little hotel called Armeni Village, and it was the cutest place. Our room looked like a little cave. It is very romantic there, but there are a lot of tourists and not that much to do besides admire the views. The sunset is so much more amazing than I ever imagined! I felt like I was in a dream.

One of the best things we did on the island was a Catamaran Cruise around the entire volcano and island. We went by the red beach, the white beach, and went swimming by the hot springs. Where else are you going to go swimming in a volcano??? Also, the best meal we had in Santorini was on the catamaran, the crew cooked everything fresh while we enjoyed the sun and the breathtaking views.

Thank you for reading!

Hello Dolls,

Wow it’s been a while! July was a crazy month! My hubby and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and went on a fabulous trip to Greece. Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin because it was truly the most amazing trip we have ever taken. We went to Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. Our trip was definitely the trip of a lifetime. We were very lucky that our friends were in Greece at the same time and gave us a VIP experience. I think I am going to have to split this up into a few posts because we did so much and I want to tell you all about it!

Our fist stop was Athens for a day and a half before we left for Mykonos. I have always heard wonderful things about Mykonos and was so excited to experience it especially because we were there with friends. Now I have been to a lot of crazy places in my life in Europe and in the US., but let me tell you, Mykonos is a different world! The beach parties are out of control, the food is beyond words, the music, the restaurants, the shopping, the nightlife is all best of the best, and the atmosphere is perfection! The Greeks have their party schedule down. In Vegas, the problem is that the day parties are amazing, but the last time we went, we all fell asleep after Drai’s and woke up at 11 p.m. and at that point it was too late to get ready to go back out. In Mykonos, everyone goes to dinner around 1 a.m, and then the night begins. You sleep on the beach the next day until you do it all over again because the beach parties don’t start until around 7 p.m..

Make sure to bring a lot of flats with you because the roads are really bad so at night, unless you want to break your legs, most girls wear sandals. I hated the idea at first because I practically live in my heels, but I have to say I have never been more comfortable in my life. It is such a good feeling when at the end of the night you are still dancing and your feet don’t feel like you are walking on nails. Also, there are no taxis (they have about 25 on the entire island) so be prepared to walk home unless you have super amazing friends that will drive you home. If all else fails you can rent a car, a 4-wheeler, or a scooter if you want to brave the mountainous roads. They are especially fun if you are going home at 5 a.m. along with everyone else who has been out all night. We were lucky that our friends recommended we find a hotel in Mykonos Town or close to it, which we did.

We stayed at the luxurious, Ostraco Suites, too bad we didn’t spend very much time at the hotel because we were out most of the time. We never even made it to the breakfast they have by the pool every morning. The island is absolutely beautiful and the views are spectacular. It feels very surreal when you are at a beach party overlooking the Aegean sea and mountains with the sunset in the background.

Hello Dolls,

I hope you enjoyed my post last week about my adventures in Miami. This week, I am going to tell you all about our adventures  in the Caribbean. After Miami, my husband and I went on a cruise with our family for my father in law’s 60th birthday. It was an Armenian Heritage Cruise on MSC Divina exploring the Western Caribbean. The best part of the cruise was that our baby niece got to join us for the trip! The ship itself was not nearly as impressive as I’ve experienced in the past, and I wouldn’t recommend it as a top choice. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean multiple times, and the food and service is much better. On MSC, the food totally sucked. I mean this with a heavy emphasis on “sucked.” Choices were not plentiful, and what was available was extremely sub par. The ship itself was not designed very well and was really confusing to get around, and there was not very much to do on board. Once i got beyond the poor quality food and terrible boat layout, I was able to enjoy the 80+ degree weather and Caribbean atmosphere. The ports of call were Falmouth, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas.

For our second wedding anniversary, my husband and I went on a Mediterranean Cruise which was absolutely amazing. One thing we learned on there was that getting excursions through the ship is not always the best idea. It’s usually better to explore on your own and book excursions while off the ship with the locals. This strategy actually backfired while we were in Jamaica. We got off the ship with my sister and brother in law, so excited to go to the beach because we had all heard about these beautiful Jamaican beaches. First of all: the port itself was a mess!!! They had buses instead of cabs that would take groups to different locations. There was an extremely disorganized system of random people directing people to buses without even asking where it was they wanted to go. It was almost like we were being shipped off to camps. We began by asking the locals to go to the best beach! They took us to Doctor’s Cay in Montego Bay which looked more like Ocean City, MD rather than the beautiful Caribbean you’re used to seeing. If Doctor’s Cay is their best beach, I am definitely never going to Jamaica ever again!

For our second port of call, we were scheduled to stop in Grand Cayman. After the horrific experience in Jamaica, we quickly lowered our standards quite a bit. Grand Cayman was everything Jamaica wasn’t – beautiful scenery and a widely developed city blanketed with amazing shopping, beautiful beach houses, and amazing restaurants – this was more like it! My husband and I rented a scooter and drove all around the island exploring amazing beaches and local neighborhoods. Grand Cayman is a very beautiful and clean island with a lot to see and do. We spent some time on seven mile beach with our sister, brother, and our niece and this beach is definitely what you would expect from a beach in the caribbean. I can’t wait to come back to the Caymans and spend more time there. I kinda wish we had stayed there the whole time!

On the third day we stopped in Cozumel, Mexico. I always love visiting Mexico, and you can never go wrong with Mexico as long as you avoid the cartel controlled areas! We rented a scooter again, but it started to rain so we turned around, went back to the city, and ate. We did some research and located this hole in the wall place that was famous for their burritos. I can tell you that the burritos we had at this spot were by far the best in the world, and I still dream about it! Seriously, if you are ever in Cozumel go to Burritos Gorditos, I promise you will not be disappointed. Before it started raining we saw a little bit of the beaches and they were gorgeous as well, so this is another island I wouldn’t mind coming back to.

Our last stop was Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. It was totally a filler stop because it is a private island owned by Norwegian Cruise Line and it is basically a corporate run man-made tourist stop. That’s how much MSC sucks, they don’t even own their own island and have to stop at someone else’s! I don’t want to complain about a beach because it was beautiful, but there was nothing else to do. Unfortunately the food on the island is brought on and prepared by the cruise ship that your are on, which really wasn’t great for us since MSC food sucked! I liked this island because it was pretty and it was relaxing, but I would have preferred Nassau and the Atlantis.

Hello Dolls,

I recently came back from an absolutely fabulous vacation to Miami and the Caribbean. It was so nice just to get out of the frozen tundra that I have been stuck in for the past 2 months. Miami is probably my husbands and I’s favorite city. Every time we go, we have an amazing time. We love the beach, the shopping, the restaurants, and the nightlife. This was our first trip with just the two of us. In the past we have gone with friends, so it was nice to just spend some quality time together. In the past when my husband used to go he would stay at Fountainbleu, so this time we decided to try one of the newer resorts, so we opted for the SLS. The hotel was built just a few years ago and is the old Ritz Plaza hotel which was gutted and redone. It actually still has the original Ritz Plaza sign and has kept the Miami Art Deco feel as you will typically find in South Beach. I definitely recommend the hotel if you’re looking for a posh and trendy atmosphere, and the service was impeccable. I typically love staying on Collins in south beach since it is walking distance to the restaurants and shopping, but far enough from the craziness on Ocean Drive. We did the usual: went to the beach, the pool, shopping, and went out to dinners.

My favorite place to shop is Lincoln Road even though some of my favorite one-of-a-kind stores, like Follies and Astoria, are no longer there. I usually don’t leave disappointed. Also, Bal Harbour is normally the mall that I would go to, but this time we decided to check out the Miami Design District because the Hermes store moved there and I absolutely had to go there. The Design District is not as gorgeous as Bal Harbour and I didn’t see quiet as many Bentleys and Birkins, but all the top brands are there like Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Christian Louboutin, etc. Uber in Miami is super cheap and it was a short Uber ride from SLS.

We had breakfast every morning at the outdoor restaurant at SLS. For lunch on Thursday we went to La Sandwicherie because my husband is obsessed. On Friday we went to Sushi Samba, it was good, but the one in Las Vegas is better. For dinner we went to our favorite restaurant in the world…..Prime One Twelve. The food there is heavenly and it’s fun to stargaze, but be prepared to wait to be seated even if you have a reservation. Friday night we went to Villa Azur and were a little disappointed! The food was nothing compared to Prime One Twelve, but then again can you really compare anything to Prime One Twelve? Also they seated us at one of those tables where the neighboring table is about 5 inches away and we hated it. The service felt like they were trying to get us in and out, all of our food came out a little too quickly for it to be made to order. I do have to say the place is gorgeous, so if you are ever in Miami stop by Villa Azur, have some drinks, take some pictures, and then go eat somewhere else.

This is a long post with lots of pictures thank you for reading!
