Hello Dolls,

I cannot believe its already fall! Where has the summer gone? I’m not a big fan of the fall because all I can think about is that winter is coming and winters in the mid-atlantic are brutal. The only bright side of fall is fashion week — and of course boots, jackets, scarves, comfy sweaters, cuddling by the fireplace and hot cocoa ;). So ladies, without further adieu, it’s time to put away all your sun dresses, bathing suits, and flip flops and get out your jeans, boots, and scarves! To kick-start the fall spirit, I am going to share my favorite denim looks because recently I am seeing denim everywhere!  This season, there really is something for everyone. My favorite look is the high wasted flair with a crop top or tucked in blouse. I recently tried on this fabulous pair of Blank NYC jeans at SouthMoonUnder that I think I am going to have to go back and get. They are currently 20% off so don’t miss out!

Thank you for reading!

Hello Dolls,

In my last post I told you all about my adventures in Mykonos! After Mykonos, we went to Santorini. I have to say that was a perfect sequence of the vacation: go crazy in Mykonos then go to Santorini to relax and detox. Santorini is very different from Mykonos. The weather in Mykonos was pretty windy and it was never super hot. Santorini was very hot! We stayed in Oia, which is the village that is in most pictures of Santorini. It is located at the very tip of Santorini and has most breathtaking views of the sunset. It’s absolutely stunning, and if you’ve ever seen any pictures from santorini chances are they were taken on a cliffside in Oia. The entire village is built into the cliff and most of the hotels are small and have incredible views. We stayed at a little hotel called Armeni Village, and it was the cutest place. Our room looked like a little cave. It is very romantic there, but there are a lot of tourists and not that much to do besides admire the views. The sunset is so much more amazing than I ever imagined! I felt like I was in a dream.

One of the best things we did on the island was a Catamaran Cruise around the entire volcano and island. We went by the red beach, the white beach, and went swimming by the hot springs. Where else are you going to go swimming in a volcano??? Also, the best meal we had in Santorini was on the catamaran, the crew cooked everything fresh while we enjoyed the sun and the breathtaking views.

Hello Dolls,

Wow it’s been a while! July was a crazy month! My hubby and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and went on a fabulous trip to Greece. Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin because it was truly the most amazing trip we have ever taken. We went to Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. Our trip was definitely the trip of a lifetime. We were very lucky that our friends were in Greece at the same time and gave us a VIP experience. I think I am going to have to split this up into a few posts because we did so much and I want to tell you all about it!

Our fist stop was Athens for a day and a half before we left for Mykonos. I have always heard wonderful things about Mykonos and was so excited to experience it especially because we were there with friends. Now I have been to a lot of crazy places in my life in Europe and in the US., but let me tell you, Mykonos is a different world! The beach parties are out of control, the food is beyond words, the music, the restaurants, the shopping, the nightlife is all best of the best, and the atmosphere is perfection! The Greeks have their party schedule down. In Vegas, the problem is that the day parties are amazing, but the last time we went, we all fell asleep after Drai’s and woke up at 11 p.m. and at that point it was too late to get ready to go back out. In Mykonos, everyone goes to dinner around 1 a.m, and then the night begins. You sleep on the beach the next day until you do it all over again because the beach parties don’t start until around 7 p.m..

Make sure to bring a lot of flats with you because the roads are really bad so at night, unless you want to break your legs, most girls wear sandals. I hated the idea at first because I practically live in my heels, but I have to say I have never been more comfortable in my life. It is such a good feeling when at the end of the night you are still dancing and your feet don’t feel like you are walking on nails. Also, there are no taxis (they have about 25 on the entire island) so be prepared to walk home unless you have super amazing friends that will drive you home. If all else fails you can rent a car, a 4-wheeler, or a scooter if you want to brave the mountainous roads. They are especially fun if you are going home at 5 a.m. along with everyone else who has been out all night. We were lucky that our friends recommended we find a hotel in Mykonos Town or close to it, which we did.

We stayed at the luxurious, Ostraco Suites, too bad we didn’t spend very much time at the hotel because we were out most of the time. We never even made it to the breakfast they have by the pool every morning. The island is absolutely beautiful and the views are spectacular. It feels very surreal when you are at a beach party overlooking the Aegean sea and mountains with the sunset in the background.

Thank you for reading!

Hello Dolls,

I cannot believe it’s already July and I have not talked about sunglasses! I love love love sunglasses! I never leave the house without a pair, and I even throw on a pair in the winter when it’s not that sunny. I think sunglasses are like shoes, you can’t leave home without them. I also think it’s important to match your sunnies with what you are wearing which is why I have a nice collection that I have compiled over the years. I am very picky with my sunglasses and I’m sure you all know that not all sunglasses look good on everyone so when I get a new pair I get really excited. This past January, I got a pair of these Dita ones that I wore on 4th of July in the picture below. Actually, my husband bought them for himself and I stole them because I loved them so much. Before these, I think I hadn’t found sunglasses that I really liked in over 2 years. I am very happy with the Dita brand because unlike most sunglass brands, Dita actually designs and makes their own sunglasses and these particular ones have 18 karat gold hardware ;). When you pick up a pair of Dita’s and see the quality and craftsmanship that they put into each pair, you will quickly realize not all sunglasses are equal.

As always, I am going to include a few pairs of my favorite sunglasses that I have seen out there for all you shopaholics out there.

Thank you for reading!

Hello Dolls,

This past weekend was my niece’s Christening! Most of you know how obsessed I am with her. I fell in love with Noela the moment she was born and words cannot describe how much happiness this little princess has brought into my life – she is truly a blessing. My husband and I are very honored to be Noela’s Godparents. For the christening, my sister in law asked us, the family, to all wear white. It was such a great idea! We have only gotten a sneak peak at the pictures, but what we have seen so far looks gorgeous! My niece wore a custom made white lace dress with crystals, seriously you would melt looking at her because she looked so freaking cute!!! She looked like a little Angel and Princess all in one.

As for me: there are a lot of beautiful white dresses out there, but not all are Church appropriate. I wanted to find something that was a little above my knees so not too short. I didn’t want sleeves because the church gets hot, but I didn’t want it too open on the top either again because I wanted to be Church appropriate. I was so excited when I came across a white Milly sheath dress at a boutique in Georgetown. I had to get it altered a little bit because it was a little loose in my waist, but it turned perfect! The dress that I got is a vintage, but I posted some of the other dresses I considered for the occasion at the bottom of this post. Feel free to e-mail me at Masha@MashaGabriella.com if you are looking for something specific and I’ll help you find it!

Hello Dolls,

I’m sure you have noticed by now that fringe is kind of a big deal this season! It has been slowly making a name for itself and now it’s everywhere. I wasn’t really into fringe until my best friend got me this amazing fringe vegan leather skirt, but now I am obsessed! I paired my skirt with a white cropped tee and some gold jewelry for a very simple yet polished black & white look.

I am loving fringe because it is so fun, and there are so many ways you can incorporate it into your wardrobe. I would definitely invest in at least one fringe piece because it isn’t going anywhere for a while. To help you out, I’ll share some of my favorite fringetastic finds at the bottom of the post. Happy shopping!

Hello Dolls,

This week I wanted to share with you whats in my makeup drawer. A lot of you have asked what are some of my favorite products. I am a little bit of a makeup junkie. I love playing with makeup, testing out new products, and broadening my makeup collection. Below are some of my absolute favorite go to products, most of them can be purchased at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, or Sephora.

Primer/Foundation

Smashbox Contour BB SmashboxBB cream SMashboxPrimer

I love Smashbox BB creams. I’ve tried MAC, Chanel, NARS, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, but my favorite is Smashbox. I don’t like really heavy foundation so I use BB creams because they give me that light even coverage. I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, a darker shade Camera Ready stick BB cream to contour and the lighter shade Camera Ready BB Cream on the rest of my face. I am planning on trying Armani Luminous one of these days and when I do I’ll let you know what I think.

Concealer

bobbibrowntintedeye ChanelConcealer

I use Corrector Perfecton Long-Lastin Concealer by Chanel it’s not a great highlighting concealer, but it’s amazing for coverage. I have recently started using Bobbi Brown Tinter Eye Brightener under my eyes and its amazing if you are looking for that highlighter under your eyes. I apply it in a triangle under my eyes. Sometimes I use it by itself and sometimes I mix it with the Chanel concealer if I am looking for more coverage.

Bronzer

_10278483_5800199

I like to mix a matte and a shimmer bronzers. I use the Sunkissed Matte “Bronze Lights” Bronzer by Smashbox around the face. For my cheeks and t-zone I use NARS Bronzing Powder in “Laguna”.

_5771411s513234-main-hero-300

I contour with the darkest shade in my Bobbi Brown “Bronze Shimmer” Brick Compact or Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. These products are great if you are either keeping you makeup light without any foundation or are adding more dramatic contouring for a night out. The Bobbi Brown brick is more shimmery, while the Hoola is more matte so just depends on what you are in the mood for. I have even mixed the 2. The Bobbi Brwn brick is awesome because it also has a highlighter and you can mix the darker shades with the lighter ones to use as an all over bronzer, a really great product to have in your purse!

Highlighter

_45062_5771411

I use “Soft Lights” highlighter by Smashbox this one is more soft pink. My other go to is the highlighter in my Bobbi Brown “Bronze Shimmer” Brick Compact which is more white gold, I use this one closer to my eyes.

Blush

_6813739_8318326

My every day go to blush for years has been “Orgasm” by NARS. I have recently discovered Bobbi Brown Blush in Pale Pink. This one is a more pink blush and gives you nice rosy cheeks. Be careful if you are doing heavy makeup because it may be a little too much! This one is great if you are doing simple makeup for a fun day outside.

Eyeliner

MarcJacobsLinerLinerMAC

I don’t leave home without my eyeliner. I use a liquid liner for my eyelid and a pencil for the waterline. My favorite liquid liner by far is the Magic Marc’er Precision Pen by Marc Jacobs. I’ve tried Nars, MAC, and Smashbox, but have always come back to this one. If you like a pencil for you eyelid then Eye Kohl in “Smolder” also by M.A.C. is amazing but be careful of using it on your waterline because it runs.

For the waterline I use Kohl Power Eye Pencil in “Feline” by M.A.C. Powerpoint Eye Pencil in “Engraved” by M.A.C is another good one.

Mascara

s1255462-main-hero-300 s838763-main-hero-300 _7273354US-1017-00

When I’m not wearing lashes, I like to use 2 mascaras. I use the Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum by Dior followed by 5 coats of YSL “Shocking” mascara followed by 2-3 coats of Diorshow mascara. There are a few new Diorshow mascaras out that I haven’t tried yet. I just got Diorshow Blackout and I hate it! If you want to skip this whole process Younique 3D Mascara is AMAZING! It makes your lashes look incredibly long and thick!

Eyebrows

_9025297

Don’t even think about trying anything else besides Anastasia Beverly Hills “Brow Wiz”! I came across this line by accident a few years ago at ULTA when I was looking for a Clinique eyebrow pencil. Since then I have never even thought about trying anything else. It is SO easy to use and they have a great color selection!

False Lashes

lillyghalichi_venice_1024x1024

I loooove Lilly Lashes. I used to sweat by Ardell, but ever since I’ve discovered Lilly Lashes I just can’t go back. They are more expensive so I try to compensate for that by wearing them at least twice. My favorites are Venice, Tehran, and Paris.

Lipstick

_6564535MT8724 _9388031 _6333966

MAC has the best colors hands down, but it dries my lips. Their “Mineralize Rich” Lipstick line is their best line that does not dry your lips too much. NARS is coming along with their colors and they have these awesome “Velvet Gloss” lip pencils. I also like Chanel, Smashbox and Tom Ford. My current favorite is Tom Ford I just got it in “Indian Rose” and it’s a beautiful color! Burt’s Bees now has a lipgloss and lipstick line which is all natural, I have gotten a few of those for every day wear.

Hello Dolls,

This past weekend one of my very close friend from college got married. It was a beautiful wedding in Connecticut and I am so happy my husband and I got to share the special day with the beautiful couple. Now that the wedding season is in full bloom I want to talk about how Rent the Runway is an amazing service for anyone who has weddings to attend this spring and summer. I love to dress up and I love fun and unique dresses, but I don’t usually like to re-wear them and I don’t like to clog up my already overflowing closet with things that I may never wear again. I also have to be in the mood for my outfit as I usually get tired of things, so Rent the Runway makes it so you don’t have to think twice about edgy and over the top styles. You can rent fabulous designer dresses for a fraction of what they would cost to purchase. I discovered rent the runway about 3 years ago and have used it for many events. I have been very happy with them and their service. The dresses have always come in good condition, and their customer service is great! Once they even shipped a dress to my hotel in New York City when I needed something last minute.

Renting is very easy, and it is like shopping on line. You enter in the date of your event and the size you are looking for and rent the runway narrows your search to the available dresses for the date needed. I recommend renting in advance because then you will have more dresses to choose from, but they have a huge inventory so even if you need something last minute its probably not going to be a problem. I have ordered a dress on a Monday for an event that was on a Thursday. They offer 2 rental options, a 4 day rental, and an 8 day rental. I have only used a 4 day rental because even if I was going out of town I’ve been able to ship my dresses back within 4 days. When you rent a dress you can order up to 2 sizes at no additional charge so you don’t have to stress about the dress not fitting. Also for an additional $32.50 you can rent a second dress in case you don’t like the first one. I recommend doing this because the dress usually comes in the night before your event, so just in case you first choice doesn’t work out you at least have a backup. You can also rent accessories like jewelry and handbags to complete your look. For all the brides out there they now have a bridal accessories rental section.

I recently joined their pro membership. For $29.95 I get free shipping and insurance for 1 year. Normally with an order there is a $9.95 shipping charge and a $10 insurance fee which covers you for any damage to the dress. If you are going to rent more than once in one year this is a great option to look into.

If you are ever in Washington, DC, New York, Chicago, or Last Vegas they have Rent the Runway stores where you can rent from their inventory or order your rental to be shipped to the store and and try it on for free before committing to the rental. If your entire order arrives but does not fit, or if you don’t like it you can submit a return for fit claim and get your money refunded to you. I’ve done that once and got my money back right away with no questions asked.

If you are like me and you love fabulous dresses but know that you are probably not going to wear it again, then I highly recommend you try them out.

Below are 2 dresses I’ve rented recently.

It is finally FINALLY spring! We have waited a long time for this. This lovely warm weather also brings with it wedding and shower season. I have had this skirt and blazer for a few years now and I can’t tell you how many different events I’ve worn them too. The skirt is great because you can actually pull it up higher on your waist and make it into a shorter skirt……just saying 😉 BCBG hands down has the best blazers. I feel that some of their stuff is overpriced, but their blazers are worth it.

Hello Dolls,

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet because I have a few amazing things in the works, so stay tuned ;).

My husband hosted a car meet at his bakery, Classic Bakery, and I wanted to dress the part. I knew I had to involve leather of some sort. What’s better than my new river island faux leather jacket from ASOS? I was so excited that I finally got to wear it because I am absolutely in love with this jacket, and it is perfect for early spring! It’s fitted, which for me is a must. It has gold zippers, tufting, and an amazing faux fur collar – what else can you ask for in a leather jacket? The one that I got available here is almost sold out in all the normal sizes, but it’s available in other colors here and here. It runs a tiny bit small, so be careful, mine is a US size 4. Check out the end of this post, I added a few alternative leather jackets for spring. Click on the images to go directly to where to buy them.
